Holidays aren’t cheap and costs seem to be constantly on the rise and seem to be getting out of hand. From a coffee to a castle visit or a round of golf - the costs seem to vary greatly and for me, some prices are far too high. Our business is carrying tourists who spend their hard-earned money to visit our beautiful country. I have recently noticed that our industry is charging, in my humble opinion, far too much for certain things. I understand that the season is short and we need to make a profit but in some cases is just way too much. Here is a short list of good quality things to do and enjoy for under £50 pp. https://www.getyourguide.co.uk/edinburgh-l44/edinburgh-the-scotch-whisky-experience-tour-and-tasting-t223509/ https://www.getyourguide.co.uk/edinburgh-l44/old-town-brewing-heritage-walking-tour-with-beer-tastings-t120247/ https://www.getyourguide.co.uk/queensferry-l115822/firth-of-forth-sightseeing-cruise-with-cream-tea-t192962/ https://hopetoun.co.uk/house-and-grounds/ https://www.getyourguide.co.uk/inverness-l1935/1-day-cairngorms-and-speyside-whisky-tour-t89820/ There are also a number of brewery and distillery tours for under £50 pp in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. Scotland is for enjoying and is full of exciting things to do whatever your interests. Our advice is to do some investigating and price checking as well as signing up for Groupon discounts to get the best possible prices and bargains before you head on your trip. #History #Whiskytours #Whiskytasting #Outlander #LochsandMountains #Golf #Castles

Happy New Year! Roar into 2020 and finally fulfil that ongoing New Year Resolution to explore Scotland. Although the name suggests we only know golf, the owners and staff at Scottish Golf Transportation are Scottish experts having worked as drivers and guides over the last three decades, we have also worked on numerous TV and film shoots throughout Scotland. We believe that Scotland has much to offer in the way of experiences and we know that many people come here to fulfil a lifelong dream of visiting their favourite film or TV show locations that’s why we are excited to announce we will now be adding Outlander location Tours and Whisky Distilleries to our ‘experiences’ options. Many of the places to visit have an entrance fee which go towards paying for the constant upkeep of Castles and stately homes. We would recommend purchasing a National Trust for Scotland membership which will help keep costs down. These memberships provide discounts on entry fees along with helpful and interesting updates throughout the year. The prices vary but it’s absolutely worth looking into and more information can be found on www.nationaltrust.org.uk or www.historicenviroment.scot. Please do drop us an email if you have any questions on our new services, we are here seven days a week and are happy to answer all questions or discuss your dream Scottish bespoke tour. We hope 2020 is a wonderful year for you and we look forward to welcoming you on board one of our luxury vehicles soon.
We always enjoy showing our beautiful country and all it has to offer to our many groups who come to play golf. Many of our clients have been before and when they decide to return we are delighted to be able to show them more of Scotland. 2019 has been a very busy year with more than just golf trips going on. Not all of our golf tours involve partners who play golf and this year with all the hype about the programme Outlander we found ourselves taking the non golfers in the groups to visit location where the TV show had been filmed. The popularity of the show has been an eye opener and we find ourselves looking into offering a bit more of this type of trip. So for the 2020 season we will be offering side trips to non golfers . We look forward to the challenge and suggest that anyone visiting who wishes to look at the many castles and historic venues on offer look into obtaining an Historic Scotland pass which gives you a discount on the prices for entry into many of the venues. http://www.historic-scotland.gov.uk passes are also available http://www.visitscotland.com express pass. Many Thanks to all our clients in 2019 and we look forward to welcoming on board all our new clients in 2020.
